So two years ago, my friend Annie asked me to get my nails painted pink throughout the month of October in honor of breast cancer awareness. I was like SURE! Two of my grandmothers battled Breast Cancer and one did not survive...so this is something that is near to my heart. I think that as a culture we think if we ignore something long enough than it never happens to YOU...but I will never forget the look of horror on my grandmother's face when I walked into her room and she didn't have on her wig and wasn't covered after her mastectomy. I loved her even harder from that day forward. I think that if we keep awareness alive, then early detection is more of a chance of beating the disease or finding a cure. I challenge you to join the #PaintedPinkforBC #PaintedPink Challenge. It's as easy as 1). Get your nails painted pink...or put on pink lipstick 2). Hashtag #PaintedPinkforBC &&& #paintedpink 3). Tag your friends and challenge them as well
My friends are doing some pretty awesome things as well. Annie is having a Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon for women in Atlanta this weekend. I look forward to seeing all of the gorgeous women PAINTED PINK...nails & lippies. Check out her GO FUND ME PAGE to donate to Breast Cancer Awareness.
